Hillpoint Farms was settled in 1937 by Art and Marge Abram who established a hunting and fishing resort and a guiding business on the property. Big game, upland birds and ducks were plentiful the area. The main lodge was built in 1945 and opened to guests in the spring of 1946. Following a hiatus during the 1960's, Arnold Abram, the son of Marge and Art returned to Hillpoint Farms and pheasant hunting began again on the property.
For years pheasant hunting on the farm was exclusively for family and friends. In 2008 the pheasant operation was expanded using Balm of Gilead hunt club stock. Flight pens and a brooder house were constructed.
Hillpoint Farms is now proud to offer some of the best pheasant hunting in North America.
Hillpoint Farms occupies 800 pristine acres in the South Cariboo, on the shores of Dempsey Lake, 18 kms north east of 100 Mile House. Dempsey Creek runs through the property. 200 acres are specifically maintained for pheasant hunting. Reed canary grasses provide excellent cover for pheasants along the creek bed and valley bottom area. Alfalfa fields and light poplar stands provide a variety of terrain and add to the hunting experience . Hunters have a choice of planted birds or high release flyers.
